Bradford Textiles Society Competition :]
Today I recieved the news that I have won a commendation in the worshipful textiles section of the Bradford Textiles Society Competition. I have been smiling uncontrollably all day long and am very pleased with myself. I now feel inspired to enter more competitons and will make this a priority. So happpyyyyyyy. Sampling, Sampling, Sampling.....
So at the minute I'm practically living in the print room...but I love it. So far I have created 4 final prints and I'm hoping to get another printed tomorrow (fingers crossed :]). Here are some of the smaples for my first design I started with. I prefer working with silks so all my fabrics are infact silk, hope you like them........

So...I'm in the middle of the major project and things have been very hectic. This week we got out dissertation marks back and I had a big smile on my face ! At the minute I'm constantly in the print rooms sampling and loving being back in there. My major project is partially continued on from the 'Latino' theme of my minor project but I have mixed it up with some images of the anatomy like cells and arteries. Here's some of my inital drawings to give you a flavour....

Heyyy people, so it's been a long time since I last posted and I've been keeping myself rather busy. Over the summer I made my concept journal for my minor project which I l-o-v-e-d doing. My theme was called 'Latino' and I drew from images of tropical butterflies, insects and animal print. I really enjoyed spending the time getting primary research from places like Butterfly World and The Deep in Hull. It was nice to have the time to properly think through initial ideas and play around with colour schemes and concepts. Here's a few images from my concept journal which I think are quite exciting...........
